Who Can Apply?

o    Any Indian Citizen can apply for the openings.

o    Citizen of the following countries is also allowed and is eligible to apply for the openings:

o    Nepal

o    Bhutan

o    Tibetan refugee, subject to their arrival in India with an intention of settling permanently, before 1 January 1962.

o    Subjects who were Indian born but might have migrated to Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries and many such countries are eligible for applying.

NOTE: All the above categories, except (a) must have proper certificate of eligibility of staying in India from the Government of India

Age Limit

o    18-32 Years as per the post.

Essential Qualification

o    For all Position: Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

o    Assistant Audit Officer: CA or CMA or CS or M. Com.  Or Masters in Business Studies or MBA (Finance) or Master in Business Economics.

o    Statistical Investigator Grade: Maths in 12th Standard & 60% in graduation OR Bachelors  Degree  in  any  subject  with  Statistics  as  one  of  the  subjects  at degree level.

o    Compiler: Bachelors Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject

o    For Assistant, Auditor, Accountant, Junior Account, Tax Assistant and UDC Posts in Central Secretariat Service, Intelligence Bureau, Central Vigilance Commission, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Railway, AFHQ, CBDT, CBEC, and Inspector post in CBEC, Inspector (Examiner) in CBEC, Inspector in Central Bureau of Narcotics - Maximum age is 27 years

o    For Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation, Sub Inspector in National Investigation Agency - Up to 30 years

o    For Statistical Investigator Grade II - Maximum age is 32 years

Scheme of the Examination for CGL

A The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

o    Tier-I Computer Based (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

o    Tier-II Computer Based (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

o    Tier-III Descriptive Paper (Pen & Paper Mode) in English / Hindi (writing of  Essay / Precis / Letter / Application Writing etc

Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination

o    General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Questions & 25 Marks)

o    General Awareness (25 Questions & 25 Marks)

o    Quantitative Aptitude (25 Questions & 25 Marks)

o    English Comprehension (25 Questions & 25 Marks)

Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination

o    Quantitative Abilities (200 Marks)

o    English Language & Comprehension (200 Marks)

o    General Studies (Finance & Economics) (200 Marks)

o    Statistics (200 Marks)

o    Quantitative Abilities & English Language & Comprehension- are compulsory for all the categories of posts.

o    Statistics  is  only  for  those  candidates  who   apply  for  the  post  of Statistical Investigator Grade -II & Compiler.

o    General Studies (Finance and Economics) is  only  for  those  candidates  who  apply  for  the  post  of  Assistant  Audit Officer

NOTE: There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier – I. In respect of Tier – II.

Combined Graduate Level (Tier-III) Examination

o    Mode of Examination:: Pen and Paper mode

o    Scheme of Examination: Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of Essay / Precis / Letter / Application Writing etc)  

o    Total marks 100

o    Total Time: 60 minutes    

NOTE: For VH and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy: 80 Minutes
