Who Can Apply?

Participants must have this citizenship which is given below.

o    Citizen of Indian

o    Citizen of Nepal

o    Citizen of Bhutan

o    A Tibetan refugee

o    Migrated Peoples from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

          Under IBPS Eligibility Criteria for PO interested candidates must have age between 20 - 30 years.

Age relaxation

o    Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (5 years)

o    Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) (3 years)

o    Persons With Disabilities (10 years)

o    Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the stipulated time) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment       (5 years)

o    Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 (5 years)

o    Persons affected by 1984 riots (5 years)

Essential Qualification

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

            Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

            Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/ UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable. (Some questions may be put at the time of interview to ascertain the candidate s familiarity with the Official Language of the State/UT).

            Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the union.

Note: All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared.

o    Educational Qualification – must have completed graduation degree in any discipline.

o    Age limit 20- 28 years

Job Responsibilities of Clerk in the bank

 For customers, Clerk is the first point of contact for enquiries & guidance. Clerk post is an important part of every bank. o    Handling deposit and withdrawal cash is the primary work of the clerk. Along with that clerk also undertakes the receipt of cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, and pay orders.

o    Payment clearance works like Verify cheques, issue demand drafts, etc.

o    Maintain a daily record of balance.

o    Perform various back office works like receipts collection, ledger maintenance, balance tally, data entry, issue ESI stamps, typing other necessary bank information served to the customers, etc.

o    Issue cheque books after authentication of clients.

o    In some of the bank clerk also plays a significant role in the marketing of financial products of the bank such as loans, mutual funds, deposits, schemes, etc.

Selection Procedure:

Institute of Banking Personnel (IBPS) scheduled Online written the exam as Objective type paper in two levels Pre & Mains. Pre Paper contains 100 questions of 100 marks time duration 01 hours and Mains exam include 200 Questions from five sections which are Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.

Each Section contains equal marks of 40. And Time duration for Clerk Paper is 02 Hours. The score also effects by Negative marking for every wrong answer which calculates 0.25 per answer. Each Candidate required scoring minimum passing marks in each section to be qualified for selection.
