Indian Law Society (ILS) Law College Pune

Indian Law Society (ILS) Law College Pune will be offering admissions to undergraduate law programmes including three-year LLB and five-year integrated BA LLB through a Common Entrance Test (CET). Candidates will have to appear for CET and the law college will be accepting scores for the admissions.

The official notification of ILS Law College Pune came after the Government of Maharashtra decided to conduct a Common Entrance Test in and directed all law colleges of the state to offer the admissions based on the performance in the entrance test.

Eligibility for Admission

You must have the following qualifications to become eligible to join these courses:

o    B.A.LL.B. (Five-Year law-degree Course): XIIth or equivalent with minimum 40% for SC / ST candidates, and 45% in all other cases

o    LL.B. (Three-Year law-degree Course): Graduate of any discipline with minimum 40% for SC / ST candidates, and 45% all other cases

Analysis of Entrance Examination

Medium of CET

The question paper will consist of objective type question in English and Marathi language.

CET Pattern

o    Total Marks: 150

o    No. of Multiple choice question : 150

o    No negative marking

o    Duration of Examination : 2 hours


Subject with weight age

o    Legal Aptitude (40 Marks)

o    General knowledge with current affairs (30 Marks)

o    Logical reasoning (30 Marks)

o    English  (30 Marks)

o    Basis Mathematics (20 Marks)


o    English - Vocabulary proficiency, English usages errors, English comprehension with minimum two passages followed by five to ten questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.

o    Legal Aptitute- This section will test candidate interest towards study of law , research aptitude and problem solving ability. Question will be formed with the help of legal proposition and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied.

o    Logical reasoning- The subject is to test the candidates ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogism, logical sequences, analogies etc.

o    General knowledge including current affairs- The topic such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, Current affairs of the past one year. The subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happening and awareness of the world.

o    Basis Mathematics- The Mathematics questions will be set from 10th and 12th level of various topics including profit and loss , speed and distance, time and work, algebra, average, permutation and combination, Venn diagrams.
